I’m Dreaming… Are You?

“All dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney

I thought it was appropriate to share this quote given the time of year. It seems that Christmas time is the right time for children to dream and for miracles to happen, yet as adults, we become afraid to dream and settle comfortably into our own world of daily realities.
We can learn a lot from others who have achieved success so I looked at Walt Disney’s bio. Here are the top 2 key learnings:

1. A book can launch a dream, a career and even a business empire. Walt was a cartoonist and only became interested in animation after reading a book by Edwin G. Lutz, called Animated Cartoons: How They Are Made, Their Origin and Development. After reading this book, Walt eventually decided to open his own animation business.

2. A dream and its success comes from persistence and timing. Disney experimented with many animated film clips before coming out with his first success in 1928, Steamboat Willy featuring his beloved character Mickey Mouse. Yet the Golden Age of Animation didn’t appear until 1937-1941 beginning with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Where will your dreams take you? This holiday season we wish you a wild imagination, dreams to hold onto and much success in 2010!
